PRINTMAKING
During the first semester of my senior year, I took a Basic Printmaking course, where I was introduced to the medium for the first time. Throughout the semester, I explored a variety of techniques, including black-and-white linoleum prints, portrait carvings, multi-color reduction prints, and drypoint etching. One of my favorite projects was a two-color sardine can print, which challenged me to think carefully about layering, carving, and color registration. I also created a skier portrait using linoleum, allowing me to combine my love of skiing with the course objectives.
As the semester progressed, my carving became more precise and detailed, while drypoint introduced me to an entirely different approach to printmaking through etched plexiglass plates. This course pushed me outside of my comfort zone and gave me a deeper appreciation for traditional printmaking techniques, encouraging me to continue exploring the medium beyond the classroom.
Although the course has ended, I continue to apply the printmaking techniques I learned to my professional work.
Most recently, I have been creating large-scale wall art graphics for Blu Fin Fashion, an emerging clothing brand founded by four Marist University alumni. The brand focuses on swimwear and contemporary apparel, with each team member contributing a different creative specialty.
As the Fashion Graphic Designer and Marketing Designer, I develop visual assets that reflect the brand's identity.
One of my recent projects incorporates a printmaking-inspired illustration featuring the brand's signature red Jeep alongside one of its featured models. Using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, I refined the artwork,
created custom typography, and prepared the final design for large-format wall graphics. It has been exciting to apply traditional printmaking concepts in a modern branding environment,
