MEASURE MAGAZINE
Measure Magazine is Marist University's student-run fashion and lifestyle publication, and I had the opportunity to be a part of the magazine for two consecutive years. During my time on the publication, I served on both the Layout & Design Team and the Production Team, contributing to the creative direction and final production of each issue. The magazine features fashion editorials, student-written articles, and highlights the work of Marist's senior Fashion Design students. Each spring issue showcases the designers' capstone collections, which are later presented during the university's annual Silver Needle Runway fashion show.
My primary role on the Production Team was editing photographs captured by our photographers and designing editorial and article spreads for publication. Wanting to become more involved with the magazine, I also applied for one of the student photographer positions. Through this opportunity, I photographed and art-directed two editorials, "Fade to Black" and "In Bloom," both of which were published in the magazine. In addition to photographing editorials, I collaborated closely with the Fashion Department, both behind and in front of the camera. Alongside directing photoshoots, I also modeled in the editorial "Love Sick," giving me a deeper understanding of the creative process from multiple perspectives.
This experience helped me discover the direction I want to pursue after graduation.
I found a passion for conceptualizing and directing photoshoots, editing the final imagery, and transforming those visuals into cohesive editorial layouts and two-page magazine spreads.
Working across photography, graphic design, and art direction allowed me to combine my creative interests into a single storytelling experience.
