For my final project, I created a photographic zine centered around fruit, the very same subjects that inspired my first acrylic paintings during my senior year of high school. The project became a way to reconnect with the beginning of my artistic journey while exploring a new medium. All of the photographs were taken in my dorm room, where I built a simple studio setup using a white sheet as the backdrop and a mirror beneath each subject to create the illusion of reflection and depth.

 

Lighting played a key role in the final outcome. I used harsh, cool lighting for the red and green fruits to create bold contrast, while softer, warmer lighting complemented the apples and lemons, resulting in a more inviting and organic feel. Through this project, I learned how thoughtful lighting, composition, and post-processing can transform everyday objects into compelling visual narratives.
